Every Californian, regardless of age, ability, income, or language, deserves access to culturally relevant education that prepares them for disasters such as wildfires, floods, earthquakes, droughts, and heatwaves. Thanks to ongoing investments from Governor Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers, Listos California collaborates with a statewide network of community organizations, Tribal Governments, and Community Emergency Response Teams to enhance resilience, offer accessible information in multiple languages, and promote a new culture of disaster preparedness.
Since its establishment at the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) in 2019, Listos California has successfully reached millions of residents who might not otherwise receive critical emergency preparedness information. By providing tools that empower vulnerable Californians to not only survive but also thrive after a disaster, Listos California plays a crucial role in enhancing community resilience.
