High winds could cause impacts such as downed power lines, downed trees and power outages. Learn more about wind preparedness tips and how to report wind-related issues.
Downed Power Lines
With high wind conditions expected in Southern California, remember to stay at least 100 feet away from power lines. Never touch a downed power line, or anything that’s in contact with it. If you see a downed wire, call 911 right away.
Downed Trees
If you see a downed tree, report it! Here are a few reminders:
- Do not report to the City’s 311 app.
- For trees that are causing a road traffic or immediate safety hazard, please call 911.
- Otherwise, call the Parks Division during normal business hours at (805) 385-7950 or the police non-emergency line at (805) 385-7740 during non-business hours.
Trash Carts & Collection
Due to the high wind forecast, trash collection delays may occur and carts may blow over with the wind. To help protect your carts, please put them away immediately after they are serviced.
To report a missed cart pick-up after the wind event, please contact: (805) 385-8060.
