The Patrol Support Division is comprised of the Traffic Unit, Booking Unit, Community Service Officers, and Animal Safety Unit. Traffic Service Assistants provide support with parking enforcement and traffic collision reporting. One commander and two sergeants oversee the sworn and civilian personnel.
Traffic Unit
This includes enforcing traffic laws, parking enforcement, investigating serious injury and fatal traffic collisions, hit and run collisions, and the deployment of school crossing guards.
Animal Safety
Regulates domestic animals and predator control within the City of Oxnard. Animal Safety Officers (ASOs) respond to calls regarding animal safety and welfare throughout the City.
