
Melissa Garibay was born and raised in the City of Oxnard and graduated from Santa Clara High School. She holds an Associate’s Degree in General Education from Oxnard Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California Coast University.
Melissa began her career with the Oxnard Police Department in January 2007 as a Police Records Technician. In 2014 she transferred into the Property and Evidence unit and in 2017 she was recognized as the Oxnard Police Department Civilian of the year. In 2018, she was promoted to Police Records Supervisor.
In December of 2024, with almost 18 years of experience with the Oxnard Police Department, Melissa was promoted to her current position as the Records and Property Manager, where she oversees the Property and Evidence unit, Records unit, and Word Processing unit.
In addition to her work as Records and Property Manager, Melissa is a co-coordinator for the Peer Support Team.
Melissa is proud to work in the City of Oxnard and is honored to serve the community.
