Project Overview
The Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Well Construction Project aims to improve local water supply needs by allowing water storage during wet periods for use during dry seasons. The project intends to demonstrate that water injected at this location meets indirect potable reuse requirements per the approved RWQCB permit.
Current Project Phase – Construction
As of early December 2024, all underground utilities and footing foundations have been installed for the ASR Well enclosure. In the coming months, there will be a lane closure on South K Street, directly in front of the Oxnard PAL Teen Center, for utility connections. Additionally, the public should anticipate lane closures on West 5th Street between South H Street and South K Street for further utility connections.
Construction started in Spring of 2021.
