Project Overview
The City of Oxnard won a $7.1 million grant for improvements to Durley Park as part of Governor Newsom’s “Outdoors for All” initiative to enable all Californians, regardless of zip code or income, to access parks and open space.
Based upon the community’s feedback, the City will invest the grant funding on the following improvements at Durley Park:
- Improve the irrigation system and landscaping throughout the park.
- Construct a new bike pump track/skate park area.
- Create a walking and jogging track with lighting.
- Install exercise equipment, a natural play area with trail/gathering space, and two picnic areas with BBQ space.
- Add a basketball court with lighting, public art mural, restroom, parking lot, and lighting throughout the park.
- Renovate four baseball fields, including lighting.
- Install lighting for two existing basketball courts.
- Improve the irrigation system and landscaping throughout the park.
