Project Overview
The Skatepark in Colonia Project will utilize approximately 2.5 acres of existing park space on the northeast side of Del Sol Park at the corner of North Rose Ave and Camino Del Sol in the La Colonia neighborhood. For this Project, the City desires an Olympic-quality skatepark design that will include areas for all abilities. The design includes street obstacles and a bowl.
The project also proposes native and drought-tolerant landscaping and utilizes existing green infrastructure (bio-retention and bio-infiltration areas) that slows, cleans, and infiltrates runoff. The Design includes accessible pathways and skatepark lighting. The Skatepark is anticipated to be roughly 40,000 square feet in area.
