
The Community Recognition Awards recognize deserving individuals and groups that support the mission of the Community Relations Commission in the City of Oxnard. The awards were first approved by City Council in 1989 and are recognized annually by the Community Relations Commission
Award Criteria
- Nominee must demonstrate a strong commitment to discouraging practices involving group prejudices, racial tension, intolerance or differences in treatment or favoritism of persons on a basis other than individual merit.
- Nominee must work, live, or provide services in Oxnard
Award Categories
Awards are presented to individuals who volunteer their time to furthering the mission of the Community Relations Commission in Oxnard. Awards are presented to the categories listed below:
- Community Volunteer
- Youth Volunteer
- Senior Volunteer
- Business
- Non-Profit Organization/Community Group
Award Selection & Presentation
Award nominations will be discussed and recipients will be selected at the Community Relations Commission meeting on September 16, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 305 W. Third Street.
Recipients will be recognized during the opening ceremonies of the Multicultural Festival held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Plaza Park beginning at 10 a.m. Recipients will also be recognized at the Community Relations Commission meeting on November 18, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
