Services Overview
Parks maintenance and recreation programming in the City are managed by two separate divisions: the Parks Division and the Recreation & Community Services Division. Together these divisions provide the Oxnard community with spaces for recreational activities and opportunities.

Parks Division
The Public Works Department’s Parks Division oversees the maintenance of 36 City parks, which includes BBQ/picnic areas, playgrounds, open spaces, and other amenities and facilities within these parks. The Parks Division is also responsible for park facility rentals.

Recreation
The Cultural & Community Services Department’s Recreation Division is responsible for the operation of various recreational programs and facilities for all age groups – from youth to seniors. The division also manages sports field reservations.
Reservations & Parks Permits
Reservations are not required at most city parks; picnic areas at these parks are available on a first come first served basis.
Reservations are required at the following parks:
- College Park (fenced in area),
- Del Sol Park (fenced in area),
- Oxnard Beach Park Pavilions,
- Rio Lindo Park (Group BBQ areas) and
- all the picnic areas in Riverpark.
For these reservations, you can reach us by calling the Parks office number at (805) 385-7950 or filling out the form below. If you would like to reserve the sheltered area at Community Center East Park, call the Performing Arts and Community Center at (805) 385-8147.
Jolly jumps are allowed in City parks with a valid permit ($25).
