The Fire Prevention Division, under the leadership of the Fire Marshal, is responsible for fire, life, and environmental safety throughout the City of Oxnard. The division’s goal of safeguarding the community from fire and environmental hazards and making the City a safer place to live, work, and visit, is achieved through the programs below.
Fire Prevention Roles
We investigate fires to determine their cause and origin, and work with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office to identify and apprehend those persons involved in the crime of arson.
Oxnard Fire administers and enforces the State of California’s Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) for the City of Oxnard.

Fire Inspections
Inspections by the Oxnard Fire Department may be requested using this Online Inspection Request form. Please be sure to have your permit number as it is required for the form.
