Oxnard, CA – To help Oxnard make water conservation a way of life, the City is offering classes to teach residents how to transform lawns into beautiful, water-efficient gardens. All residential water customers are invited to register for one of the following classes to be held at the Oxnard Performing Arts and Convention Center:
Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Spanish)
Thursday, March 14, 2019, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 13, 2019, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Residents are also eligible for rebates for water saving devices, such as high-efficiency toilets and clothes washers, as well as a Landscape Transformation program, offering $1 for every square foot of thirsty grass replaced with more water-efficient native plants and irrigation systems. Details about all the rebates are at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s online water-savings portal – bewaterwise.com. This mobile-friendly site also offers tips, how-to videos and educational materials on how to be more water efficient.
