Apply to Become a Fire Explorer
Oxnard Fire is currently accepting applications year round.
To apply to be an Oxnard Fire Explorer, fill out the Explorer Application (linked below) and submit by:
- Dropping off your application at any Oxnard Fire Station
- Dropping off your application at the Oxnard Fire Department Administration Office (360 W. 2nd Street)
- Emailing your application to Firefighter Kevin Todd at [email protected]
Once your application has been received, Fire Department personnel should contact you within a week with further instructions. If you do not receive a response, please attempt to send your email again, or call the the Fire Department Administration Office directly at (805) 385-7722.
Requirements to Apply:
- Must be between the ages of 15 and 21
- Must live within Ventura County (Oxnard City is preferred)
- Attending High School or be a High School Graduate
- Have a 2.0 GPA or greater by application deadline
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
