The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for the care of official records and documents of the City such as agendas, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and other legal and historical records and information; and fulfillment of public records requests

The City Council generally meets on the first and third Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers (305 W. Third Street). City Council committees meet on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of each month in Council Chambers (305 W. Third Street) on the following schedule:
- Finance and Governance Committee: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Community Services, Public Safety, Housing and Economic Development Committee: 6:45 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
- Public Safety & Transportation Committee: 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

The City has a seven-member City Council composed of six council members elected by district and a Mayor elected at-large. All terms are four years on a staggered basis.
Community members can call the City Manager’s office at 805-385-7430 to leave a message for a member of the City Council. Members of the public may also address the City Council members during public comments at City Council and Council Committee meetings.
The City Council has a number of advisory Citizen Advisory Groups (CAGs) for which residents are eligible to apply. Applications to serve on CAGs, Boards and Committees can be found online here.
The City also offers residents an opportunity to get involved directly in their neighborhood through the Neighborhood Council program. Each neighborhood, as defined by the General Plan, is eligible to establish a Neighborhood Council for which residents of that neighborhood can participate. The U.S. Post Office located at 1641 N. C Street, Oxnard, CA 93036 offers passport services. Passport applications are accepted by appointment only Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Visit www.usps.com/scheduler for more information.
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, the public may have access to a variety of documents held by the City of Oxnard. Written requests can be submitted to the City Clerk in person or by e-mail at [email protected]. Copying fees are $1.25 for the first page and $0.25 for each page thereafter, per document.

Ordinance No. 2948 expands noticing and publication of all related materials for a City Council Meeting to 12 days in advance of the meeting and 7 days for all City Boards, Committee and Commission meetings.

Public Official Appointment Form 806
The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) requires each agency to post a single Form 806 (FPPC Regulation 18702.5). The Form 806 reports additional compensation that officials receive when appointing themselves to positions on other boards, commissions or committees of a public agency, special district, and joint power agency/authorities.
