What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Many common products that we use in our daily lives contain potentially hazardous materials and require special care when disposed of.
It is illegal to dispose of hazardous waste in the garbage, down storm drains, or onto the ground. Chemicals in illegally or improperly disposed hazardous waste can be released into the environment and contaminate our air, water, and possibly the food we eat.
Oxnard residents have access to two FREE programs to properly dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW).

Schedule an Appointment at Clean Harbors
For materials that are not accepted at the City’s Del Norte facility, residents can call Clean Harbors at (805) 987-0717 or use the Recycle Oxnard tool to schedule an appointment. There are no walk-ins.
The City does not offer a curbside collection of HHW. You must make an appointment and transport materials to the designated location on the day of your scheduled appointment.
Through the City’s contract with Clean Harbors, you will not pay a fee for HHW disposal.
